Crowns
A crown completely covers the tooth above the gum line and protects it. Crowns are made of gold or porcelain or a combination of both. The combination crown has been the primary material of choice, however the usage of all porcelain crowns are now rapidly on the increase due to stronger porcelains being available. These crowns look much more lifelike.
Bridges
A bridge replaces missing teeth by fixing a replacement tooth (or teeth) to the natural teeth at each end of the gap. Some bridges have crowns at each end. With others, the replacement teeth are stuck just to the sides of the teeth beside the gap. Bridges are often made of metal, porcelain or ceramic materials.
