Further Information on Emergency Dental Conditions
Extreme pain from a toothache may require urgent dental assistance if the pain becomes debilitating, or if serious swelling of the mouth, gums, or face is involved. The cause of the toothache can be caused by for example tooth decay, gum problems, food trapped between teeth . Our dentist will determine the cause of the toothache and provide appropriate treatment for long-lasting pain relief.
A tooth or teeth may be lost due to an injury/accident. In some cases, a lost tooth may be re-attached, but the problem needs to be attended to by a dentist within an hour of the tooth being knocked out. On the way to the dentist, the tooth should not be touched and kept clean for it to be eligible for re-attachment.
A chipped or broken tooth can be repaired to restore the look of your smile. We will check to ensure that the rest of your teeth have not been damaged.
Impacted Wisdom Tooth
An impacted wisdom tooth may need urgent dental care if it is causing a great deal of pain due to the sideways movement of the tooth against neighbouring teeth. Our dentists will help to avoid possible infection or an abscess from occurring.
Lost Dental Filling or Crown
A lost dental filling or crown is vulnerable to further damage and possible infection. We can replace a filling and re-set the a crown to ensure you eating ability is restored.
Broken orthodontic wires or brackets need to be fixed as soon as possible to prevent injuries to the soft mouth tissues, and to ensure that your treatment proceeds as planned.
